Upon research, it looks like more than 1.8 bar or 26 psi (perhaps less) can blow the old stock intercooler. So, I decided not to pass 1.65 bar. However, I didn't want my boost to be limited due to lack of carburant. My goal is to have the boost controller CONTROL BOOST...not an absence of fuel. Until a few days before this video, I had been maxing out at 1.4/1.5 bar or 20-22 psi. I then disconnected the boost controller (which was set at the most 'closed' setting) and then achieved 1.5/1.6 bar or 22-23 psi. In this video, I remove the fuel pin diaphragm spacer, which was 5mm thick, then shaved down to 2.5mm. Immediately after removing the 'fun police' spacer the boost now consistently reaches 1.7-1.8 bar or 25/26 psi. It's important to not that I have a 2.5" straight shot (no cat, resonator, muffler) stainless exhaust system. I have also installed a boost controller and most importantly--an EGT (exhaust gas temperature) gauge. I believe this gauge is a necessity before ANY tuning. I may 'get deep in the weeds' or 'waffle on' in these videos, but prefer to provide any relevant detail and let the viewer fast-forward through unneeded parts or details.
