Track A6 from " Teen Trash Vol. 13" on Music Maniac Records - GERMANY 1994 30 years after a bunch of rhythm'n'blues maniacs, called The Slaves, first shocked Vienna, the city of Wienerschnitzeis and classic waltzes with their rough tunes there are five new mopheads who are going to blow out your brain. The Jaybirds emerged from playing lots of Rhythm'n'blues standards to compose a couple of cool tracks of their own. When I first heard them playin' live at a private outdoor party I knew that this band will make it someday. But just put the song on, turn at high volume and you'll experience yourself what I mean. Bernhard Gold is the vocalist and he plays harp as well as he can sing. He gets more pleasure in playng rhytm'n'blues made by The Rolling Stones, Manfred Mann and The Yardbirds. Together with Andreas he founds The Jaybirds. Andreas Preisl plays lead guitar and sings backing vocals, too. His guitar playing is influenced by many '60s groups, sometimes also from the later ones, which makes the other members of the band running wild. Marcus Zochling and his way playing bass are indispensable for the typical Jaybird's sound. If he turns up volume it will make your ears burst, you can bet. Sometimes he sings backing vocals, too. Patrick Nagl plays rhythm guitar and he is the youngest and the latest member of the Jaybirds. He joined the band just one year before and pushes the band's sound in that way The Jaybirds were looking for. Thomas Schmitzberger, last but not least, is the drummer and supports the band with his heavy beat drumming of which they can be proud of. When the evening reaches it's highest point there's nothing that will makes it stop. Mod haircuts, short jackets, pointed boots, hipsters, cufflinks, r&b, freakbeat, style and passion: this is what you find in The Jaybirds nest.
