To my knowledge, this is the first time this piece has been arranged and played on Ukulele. The famous Poet and Peasant Overture. composed by Franz von Suppé in 1846 'Poet and Peasant' and remained one of the most popular classics. It is amazing how many other pieces of music have been influenced by this work. During the victorian and edwardian era this piece of music would be in many Piano stools, and in early sound recording it was featured by many virtuoso musicians. I am a collector of early cylinder and disc records, and have found many recordings of this piece on accordion, banjo, zither just to name a few. It became many musicians 'party piece' at the turn of the century.
