I've been a long time fan of Beach Bunny and will always try my best to see them live. It was rather disheartening to learn that when I took a two week trip to Japan earlier this year that I would miss them on tour in NYC. Well, out of the blue, Rough Trade announced this record release and signing and I was all aboard. The latest album kinda flew under my radar and felt like it stealth released under my nose. So it made sense since I didn't have a copy yet, that I'd use this opportunity to grab one. It was rather loud and I'm not sure it was the best mixed show, but it was super fun all the same. I brought my copies of the debut album Honeymoon & Emotional Creature for them to sign in addition to the latest album. They were cool and I got to ask one of the burning questions I've had about the song "Pain Killer". So I told Lili how I'm a pharmacist and it always intrigued me about they use of the lyrics "paracetamol" in the song and I found it odd. Essentially Paracetamol is the chemical name by which Tylenol or Acetaminophen as known here in the United States, but some other countries refer to it as Paracetamol. So Lili tells me that it was a good catch, and that her dad is a pharmacist too and she was asking him for advice with the rhyming in the song haha. :) "Tunnel Vision" is out now and it's a great album. I'm a real big fan of "Cycles" but honestly the whole album is not to be missed.
