The video before you is an unedited and authentic documentation of a peaceful walk through the village of Hinterglemm. Filmed with a gimbal camera, it lets you experience the true atmosphere of the village exactly as it is – with the sounds of the street, local conversations, and the ambient noises that accompany the journey. It’s a rare chance to feel as if you’re wandering the lanes yourself, breathing in the crisp Alpine air and enjoying the sights and sounds of one of Europe’s most beautiful ski resorts. Now, Hinterglemm is part of the legendary Saalbach-Hinterglemm area, which, together with Leogang and Fieberbrunn, forms the Skicircus – one of the largest and most varied ski domains in Austria. We’re talking about 270 kilometres of ski slopes, ranging from gentle blues for beginners to steep reds and challenging blacks for the more adventurous. The highest lift soars to 2,096 metres, and the resort itself sits comfortably at around 1,000 metres above sea level. There are 70 modern lifts whisking you across the mountains, and the area is renowned for its efficient lift system, lively après-ski, and vibrant village life. Hinterglemm itself is a charming Alpine village, a little quieter than its neighbour Saalbach but with a fantastic selection of restaurants, bars, and hotels. It’s also home to the area’s best beginner zone, with sunny, gentle slopes and excellent progression for those just finding their ski legs. Off the slopes, you’ll find winter walking trails, toboggan runs, and even the magical Fairytale Forest – a delightful spot for families and anyone with a sense of wonder. the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships took place on 4–16 February 2025. All races were on the Zwölferkogel mountain in Hinterglemm, with a single finish area for all disciplines – a real festival atmosphere, with fans able to ski right up to the action without needing an extra ticket. Expect live concerts, DJ sets, culinary highlights, and the legendary White Pearl Mountain Days for a touch of Alpine glamour. So, whether you’re here for the world-class skiing, the lively events, or simply to soak up the authentic Alpine village vibe, Hinterglemm and the Skicircus have something for everyone. Enjoy the walk – and perhaps, let it inspire your next winter adventure.
