Tool - "Triad" Drum Lesson:    • Tool - "Triad" Drum Lesson   Meshuggah - "I" Cover:    • Meshuggah - "I" Drum Cover   This is my drum cover of "Triad" from TOOL's Lateralus album (released May 15th, 2001). Learning this instrumental track was a huge effort for me, but the learning process was a lot of fun and it definitely tested my abilities as a drummer. Triad is a colossal album closer (before leading into Faaip de Oiad, everyone's favorite Tool song), and it highlights Danny Carey's creativity and power. In attempting this cover, I strived to replicate elements from Danny's live performance, as well as incorporate certain elements of my own (Swiss-triplet variations, tabla samples, etc.). However, staying true to the original piece was my priority. Although I'm not 100% happy with my performance on this cover (need to work on being more relaxed, and I'm not too thrilled with a couple of inaccuracies in the middle section), it was worth the effort to learn (for the most part) a song that I've loved for a long time. This was quite the challenge, but I hope to have at least done the song some justice.
