Since it's now early 2026, the game is in full swing with several updates and DLCs already expanding the prehistoric roster. Key New Features in JWE3 Frontier Developments leaned heavily into "Creativity Evolved" for this installment, addressing many long-standing fan requests: Generations & Breeding: For the first time, you can manage male and female variants, leading to juvenile dinosaurs and natural family units. Modular Building: Similar to Planet Coaster or Planet Zoo, the building system is much more flexible, allowing for custom-designed scenery and structures rather than just pre-set blueprints. Global Campaign: The story mode features a sprawling world map with locations like Japan and Hawaii, with Jeff Goldblum returning as the legendary Dr. Ian Malcolm. New Species: The launch roster included over 80 species, with newcomers like the massive Patagotitan, the horned Lokiceratops, and the semi-aquatic Megalodon (via the launch-window content). Frontier Workshop: A cross-platform hub where you can upload and download custom park designs and enclosures from other players. Recent Updates (January 2026) As of right now, the game has entered its post-launch support phase: The Wetlands Pack: A recent DLC adding species like the Pyroraptor (updated) and wetland-inspired scenery. Legacy Updates: Frontier has begun a monthly rollout to bring back every species from Jurassic World Evolution 2 that wasn't in the base JWE3 roster, starting with the Kentrosaurus this month. While the modular building is powerful, it does have a limit on PS5 and Xbox to ensure the game maintains a steady frame rate as your park grows.
