A day after violent pro-Iran protests erupted in Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has reacted, suggesting that some people are attempting to disrupt the atmosphere in the region. He urged people not to let the situation escalate further and requested religious leaders to express their grief without taking the law into their own hands. Addressing the Iran situation, Abdullah stated, 'The kind of government that exists in Iran is decided by the people of Iran,' criticising external use of force and questioning international law regarding recent strikes. He asked, 'Tell me, which law gave permission to the US or Israel to do this?' referring to killings in Iran. Abdullah appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, saying, 'Please do not let the situation get worse.
