Blessed Lord Jesus, I kneel before Thy cross, my heart heavy with the weight of my sin, which pierced Thy very soul. How my iniquity ignites the fury of divine wrath, a tempest that rages against the innocent. Show me, I pray, the enormity of my guilt reflected in the crown of thorns that pressed upon Thy brow. Let me behold the hands and feet that were pierced for my sake, a vivid reminder of the price paid for my redemption. Thy bruised body cries out for justice, yet it is mercy that flows from Thy wounds like a river of grace. Thy blood, O Lamb of God, is the essence of divine love, its worth unfathomable, its power beyond imagination. Infinite must be the evil that demands such a costly sacrifice, a staggering truth that overwhelms my spirit. Sin is not merely a shadow; it is my malady, my monster, a viper entwined in the fabric of my being. Born within me, it thrives in my life, strong in my character, a relentless foe that haunts my every step. It follows me like a shadow, mingling with each thought, a chain that binds my soul in darkness. Sinner that I am, I marvel at the sun that still shines upon me, the air that fills my lungs with breath. Why do the creatures of this world serve my needs when I am so unworthy, so lost in my rebellion? Yet Thy compassions yearn over my brokenness, reaching out to lift me from the mire of despair. Thy heart hastens to my rescue, a beacon of hope that pierces the darkness of my self-imposed exile. Thy love endured my curse, and Thy mercy bore the stripes I so rightly deserved. In humility, I long to walk through the lowest depths of self-abasement, bathed in the cleansing blood of the Lamb. Tender my conscience, O Lord, that I might triumph gloriously as an heir of salvation, renewed in spirit. Let me never forget the depth of Thy sacrifice, lest I wander away into the wilderness of sin once more. As I behold the cross, may I recognize that it is there I find my strength, my hope, my very life. In the light of Thy love, may my heart be transformed, a sanctuary where Thy Spirit dwells abundantly. With each breath I take, may I declare my dependence upon Thee, for without Thee, I am lost in the wilderness. Grant me the courage to face the darkness within, to confront the viper that seeks to devour my soul. Help me to rise above my failures, for in Thee, I am not defined by my past but shaped for my future. In every trial I encounter, may I find joy in the shadow of the cross, where hope is reborn.
