Adapted from a webinar recorded June 22, 2017, this video discusses how, through collaboration, hospitals, health systems, and other professional organizations across the Commonwealth can reduce or eliminate wrong-site surgery (WSS) events. Learn what policy and procedural changes one health system made to result in sustainable outcomes, while learning what the Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority can do for your facility to help reduce future WSS events from occurring. After viewing this education, participants should be able to do the following: •Recognize that wrong-site surgery events continue to be a threat to patient safety •Describe the role interprofessional collaboration plays in the prevention of WSS •Identify how a safety culture and teamwork impact safety in an organization •Recognize the necessary components of a continuous improvement project that will result in sustainable outcomes SPEAKER(S): Robert A.
