Sietze de Vries demonstrates the 1734 Hinsz organ at Leens

The magnificent organ (II/P 27) in the Petruskerk, Leens (Groningen province) was built by Albertus Anthoni Hinsz in 1734. It was fully restored by Reil in 2021. Sietze de Vries takes us on a full tour of the organ's colours with his improvisation on the hymn tune 'Lobe den Herren' ('Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of Creation'). I'd mentioned in passing to Sietze the day before that this was one of my very favourite hymns. Whether this improvisation was a response to that comment or the choice of theme merely a coincidence I can't say for sure, but I'm very pleased indeed with what Sietze gave us!
