Recently pulled Yoimiya on my other account on a whim after seeing that I'd accumulated 4 copies of Rust. She's very fun, and to my surprise, she did just fine in Abyss despite being underleveled (no resin and Naku Weed). I guess it goes to show that on-field dpses really are just a question of flavour, and anything goes if you have a core of decently built supports. It also doesn't hurt that she's a very good delivery vehicle for Xingqiu swords, and doesn't really care about the samurai's pesky movements when she can just pewpew them down. Having said that, being mostly single target hurts and makes zero sense whatsoever for a character with a fireworks motif. My first run with these two teams had Zhongli and Xingqiu swapped, but Yoimiya's side was lacking oomph. Seeing as how we can't have two Xingqius, Hu Tao just had to make do with copium.
