In this video, let us discuss about non obstructive azoospermia, what is non obstructive azoospermia and what are the tests to be done and what is the treatment. Simple things. So what is non obstructive azoospermia? It means the sperms are not getting produced adequately or there is no sperm production at all. It is not due to block. It is due to problem in the production. Sperm production says there is a problem. So in this case, if you see the FSH level hormone testing, the FSH level will be very high or maybe moderately high. Next it can be due to genetic causes. There is some problem in the chromosome. Why chromosome can have some micro deletion or there is some problem in the cardiotyping report itself. This is one. Third one, it could be every report is normal. FSH is normal. Karyotyping is normal. Y Chromosome is normal? Still there is no sperm. This also could be non obstructive azoospermia. If a person has non obstructive azoospermia, the next step is to go for (Testicular Sperm Aspiration)TESA. In TESA, what we will do is, we will put a needle in the test. Take the tissue out. Check in the microscope whether sperms are there. If sperms are there, we freeze the sperm and go for IVF or directly go for IVF. On the day of egg pickup for the wife, husband can go out with TESA. We put a needle, take the sperm and use the sperm for IVF process. This can be done. The technique in IVF for this azoospermia is called ICSI, intra cytoplasmic sperm injection wherein the sperm taken from this TESA procedure is injected into the egg and embryo is formed and transferred into the uterus. So this is a treatment for non obstructive vasospermia. If you are going for TESA, what is the chance of getting sperms?
