Change the Game Academy: Empowering Community, Inspiring Futures

"Empowered by the Mobilizing Support course from the esteemed Advocacy and Policy Institute (API), NGO leaders are now confidently stepping into the role of Game Changers. They are effectively applying the Mobilizing Support (MS) theory within their organizations and in their crucial interactions with sub-national authorities. This involves strategically strengthening relationships, actively engaging, and skillfully lobbying duty bearers to fulfill their roles and responsibilities. The training equipped participants with a comprehensive understanding of the MS cycle, encompassing essential tactics and principles for mobilizing support, building strong alliances, and mastering negotiation skills. A tangible example of this impact can be seen at Development for Cambodia Children (DCC). Following the API's Mobilizing Support course, DCC staff successfully identified and engaged sub-national authorities to support a young football team in Ek Phnom District. This collaboration resulted in securing a competition location, sponsorship for football jerseys, and the involvement of key stakeholders during the event. This initiative further benefited from the dedication of a volunteer coach (a former student of Ek Phnom school), the sharing of the primary school field, and the generous contribution of football materials from a local businessman. The Mobilizing Support course, delivered by the highly reputable Advocacy and Policy Institute (API), is clearly instrumental in fostering this kind of impactful change within Cambodian NGOs."
