Exploring Sutton Scarsdale’s haunting manor ruins

In this video I head to a local manor ruin only a short drive up the M1. It’s an abandoned ruin but with public access due to it being a unmanned english heritage site so not actually trespassing for once 👍 50 likes and i will come back and see how haunting it is at night. History It’s got a massive history to it and i am going to give a brief overview. For more info check it out on google. Grade 1 listed Georgian ruined stately home in Sutton Scarsdale near chesterfield, Derbyshire. Built in 1724 and would have a had a massive estate grounds like Chatsworth house. In 1824 it came into the hands of the Arkwright family the son of Richard Arkwright purchased the house. It passed through the descendents of the Arkwright family till 1919 when the last heir sold of the estate and its contents. It was sold to a local business man who stripped the house and even sold the roof. Parts of the wood panelling and features was sold to America. In 1946 the estate was brought by Orbert Sitwell with the intention of preserving what’s left. Now it’s in the hands of English heritage who look after it till this day.
