Are you leaving for a Cruise on either Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Celebrity X, or Carnival? This is 100% the best place to stay before your cruise departs. Minutes away from the Port of Tampa, the Hampton Inn Downtown Channel District is the best hotel in the area, especially for the price. It's also very close to the Florida Aquarium, Sparkman Wharf, Amelie Arena, Harbour Island, and Ybor City. I wouldn't stay here if I was planning to spend time in St. Petersburg or if I was planning a trip to the Tampa Zoo or Busch Gardens. I would stay here if I wanted to explore downtown Tampa but didn't want to spend the extra money to stay and park downtown. If I was coming into town for a Tampa Bay Lightning game, this would also be a great choice. If you are interested in visiting the Seminole Hard Rock Casino, this is a reasonably good choice, but there are properties closer to that location, although they aren't close to other attractions.
