Sinus headaches usually signify a headache caused by an infection within the sinus. But the problem is sometimes you can get a headache mimicking a sinus headache without any infection. This can be because of the changed aerodynamics of the nose caused by either deviated septums or hypertrophied turbinates or even if there is some obstruction caused by any polyps. As a result of which, there can be any negative pressure in the sinuses as the air is sucked out by blowing the nose or by sniffing extensively, as a result, ending up with headaches. So a sinus headache need not necessarily be caused by only an infection.
