Plaza de los Patos, also known as Plaza 25 de Julio, is a round square located in the heart of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Its official name commemorates the victory of the locals over the British fleet in the Battle of 1797. Inaugurated between 1913 and 1917, the square was inspired by the French park style of the Belle Époque period. At its center is an ornamental fountain featuring tiles from Seville, with water flowing through sculptures of swans and frogs, adding a unique charm to the place. The benches surrounding the fountain are decorated with tiles from the Mensaque Rodríguez factory in Seville's Triana district, displaying various ads and monograms from the first half of the 20th century.
