When adding the motor for your CNC, extruder, 3D printer you will need to adjust the A4988 stepper motor driver to ensure that you are not over / under powering allowing the ideal amount of torque to be provided without overheating and damaging the motor or skipping steps. In this video we: Locate the sense resistor (normally marked s1 / s2) Work out what resistors the A4988 uses which very from manufacturer to manufacturer and will affects the final setting. Explain the formula used to work out the correct VREF setting (Note that some suggest it's always a good idea to provide a 10% safety margin so components are not running at their maximum rating).
