It almost turned my world upside down when I learned that this famously popular piece was not composed by my very favorite composer J.S. Bach but the obscure Christian Petzold. Petzold was a close friend of the Bach family & I'm sure he must have approved Bach's publishing it in his special gift to his 2nd wife's "Anna Magdalena Suite." Note the beautiful symmetry in it's binary part A & part B sections, which Bach himself must have admired. There are no major modulations from the main key of G major. I continue to publish my young adventure into the exciting world of free-bass to show that, if an old fogey like me can pick up such a specialized instrument, you can too. I I've added a piano rendition for you to compare with. I find that the accordion has a leaner texture & less power than the piano which also produces that beautiful suspended bell-like effect.
