Rulemaking Public Hearing: Maine Medical Use of Marijuana Program

The Maine Office of Marijuana Policy (OMP) has introduced a proposed rule to replace the current rules governing the Maine Medical Use of Marijuana Program (MMMP). Public participation is a critical component of the rulemaking process, and, in accordance with the Maine Administrative Procedures Act, OMP will host a public hearing via Zoom to receive testimony from interested members of the public. The hearing will be live streamed to OMP's YouTube channel. This public hearing will serve as the second opportunity for individuals to provide feedback to OMP on revisions to the medical rule. In January, the Office released a preliminary draft of the rule, which elicited feedback from more than 1,000 stakeholders that OMP reviewed and considered to create the current version of the proposed rule. The hearing will begin at 9:00AM EDT and conclude when interested members of the public complete their testimony.
