Munyagwa Mubarak, the President of the Common Man's Party, today took to the streets of Jinja North Division to rally residents in support of his presidential campaign and that of Fred Segawa, who is contesting for Member of Parliament in the same division. During the campaign, Mubarak toured several key trading centers, including Budondo, Ambercourt, Milo Mbili, and Mafubira, where he engaged with and addressed numerous voters. Munyagwa highlighted the importance of a robust opposition to challenge the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), stating that a successful opposition would not only prevent the NRM from achieving a landslide victory but also pave the way for leadership change at the national level. He noted that a united opposition could transform the political landscape, providing Ugandans with a new alternative to the current government. Munyagwa stated, "By backing the Common Man's Party, you are endorsing unity and equal opportunities for all Ugandans." He also pledged that if his party wins, every citizen would have fair access to resources and opportunities. "We are committed to wealth redistribution, ensuring that every Ugandan, regardless of their background, can thrive." The President of the Common Man's Party also strongly condemned the continued detention of opposition leader Dr. Kizza Besigye, whom he described as a prisoner of conscience. Munyagwa added, "The opposition's victory is not merely about seizing power; it’s about achieving justice for our leaders who are being persecuted." He emphasized Besigye's unjust imprisonment as part of the wider struggle for democracy in the nation.#NTVNews #NTVTonight #NTVWeekendEdition Subscribe to Our Channel For more news visit http://www.ntv.co.ug Follow us on Twitter / ntvuganda Connect with us on Messenger via m.me/NTVUganda Contact us: CustomerCareUg@ug.nationmedia.com
