It also fits the song Gods by NewJeans from the Worlds 2023 League Anthem super well, although there's a slowed + reverb version of the League of Legends song I considered using instead. I ended up going with the standard version of the League of Legends song by NewJeans - GODS, instead (lyrics in the standard version felt a bit more punchy). The early and mid stages of the fight feel like two Gods clashing, which is corroborated by the whole sky splitting thing towards the start of the fight. But as the fight goes on it starts to seem like one of the two combatants is just playing God and isn't on the other's level. It starts to seem like it's Luffy and then boom plot twist/subversion and suddenly it's revealed Kaido has been the one playing God this entire time. It just felt like this song fit the scene so well. And it really helps bridge the hype of episode 1015 with the energy of episode 1072. It was so cool to see Luffy emerge as the man oden was waiting for: Joy Boy. It totally contrasts the expectations Donquixote Doflamingo had for the new age of piracy during the events of Dressrosa, which is super validating for Rebecca and King Riku. I just had to make some sort of music video or edit for this fight because once I had the idea I really wanted to see it come to life. That happens to me with Anime Music Videos a lot, I have an idea of something that I really want to see personally and then I make it a thing. I actually watch all of my AMVs pretty regularly because I make things that I'd be excited to see. And as always thank you for supporting Duck Piece AMV.
