This happned before and it happened again today. Time to change my process to account for this glitch that has never been fixed which involves selling multi-quantity items using calculated shipping. This caused a big headache today and I will be changing course so it doesn't happen again. Let's talk about this and your reselling questions on today's live! The law currently requires all selling platforms to issue a 1099-K to resellers when they have $600 or more in sales for the year. The past 2 years, eBay has gone to bat for resellers to have this pushed back, but will that happen this year and is anything going to be done to change this threshold? Now, with this said, I will supply this disclaimer, if your not selling your personal stuff on eBay and you are doing this to make a profit as an income or supplimental income, you should be reporting this regardless. That aside, if eBay reports your sales to the IRS through a 1099-K, you will be expected to report this income. THere has been talk all along that this threshold was being looked at for a more reasonable amount like $5k, however we have not had any update on this and in eBay's own chart they just released, it does show $600 as being the number for 2024.
