He did well in school and went to college for computer science, but he wasn’t passionate about that career choice–and it showed. He was a self-described “slacker” who put as much energy into playing video games as he did into his studies. All of that changed when he nearly failed out of school. That served as a wake-up call for him to find his passion and what truly brought him happiness, principles that have guided his entrepreneurial ventures since. He shifted from computer science to medicine and got the opportunity to travel to the Amazon, sparking a new passion for biology that led him to become an emergency room doctor. That laid the foundation for his future successes, both within the medical field and in other areas where he’s passionate, like collecting cars.
