It is inspired by the history of Niejiazhuang clay sculptures, an intangible cultural heritage in Gaomi, Shandong Province, and the widely - spread local nursery rhymes. It is illustrated by the renowned picture - book painters Wang Zumin and Wang Ying. The story is set during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. An old man living in Niejiazhuang by the Baimai Lake crafted a clay tiger with the lake mud to drive away a lake monster that was causing trouble. By doing so, he defeated the monster, dispelled the epidemic, and safeguarded the people of Niejiazhuang. This story showcases the courage and wisdom of the ancient working people and embodies people's pursuit and longing for a beautiful and stable life. The Illustrators use Chinese painting techniques to create the illustrations. The gilded Xuan paper, traditional Chinese painting colors, and the seals in the illustrations highlight the artistic conception of Chinese painting. The image of the clay tiger in the illustrations is both majestic and childishly cute. It not only retains the traditional charm but also has a sense of the times. The vivid and naively lovely illustrations demonstrate the wisdom of folk craftsmen and the enduring charm of traditional culture. *资料由青岛出版社晓童书品牌提供,希望交流购买请添加微信号Chinaliyaze,或联系邮箱huanliedu@gmail.com. *Information provided by Qingdao Publishing House.
