As One: The Autism Project

On April 25, 2017, the National Institute of Mental Health and Office of Autism Research Coordination hosted their annual special event to recognize National Autism Awareness Month. We hosted a screening of the documentary film As One: The Autism Project, which was commissioned by Her Highness Sheikha Shamsa bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to raise awareness of autism spectrum disorder. The event featured a screening of the film followed by a discussion with the film director, Ms. Hana Makki, and Ms. Sharifa Yateem, a behavioral therapist who worked with the children and families featured in the film.
