Welcome to Pattern and Craft! In this knitting tutorial video I show you how to make a beautiful faux rib stitch that unlike traditional rib does not require any purl stitches! While I actually don't mind purling, it can get annoying to knit rib where you have to switch between knit and purl stitches every other stitch. This is more of a decorative stitch, not a functional rib for necks or cuffs - think fisherman's rib or brioche but not so complicated or time consuming to knit. This knitting pattern is called cartridge belt rib, false fisherman's rib, mock fisherman's rib, or faux brioche stitch. The tutorial is mainly for the stitch itself but also includes the info on how to make a scarf with it - suggested cast on, edge stitches, bind off, stitch count, written pattern, etc. I hope this video is helpful, it's always good to learn new techniques to add to your knitting toolbox, right? I hope you try out this beautiful knitting stitch or go ahead and make a whole scarf with it! Demonstrated in continental style knitting.
