Today's walking will be in "Prainha do Canical" At the foot of a cliff is Prainha, Caniçal beach, one of the few sandy beaches in Madeira, a black sand from aeolian deposits (ancient dunes). From this beach you can see the eastern end of the island and the planes that pass on the way to the Santa Catarina airport. The temperature of the waters is delicious and it is not a dangerous beach, so you can swim without problem. On the beach there is a bar-restaurant, changing rooms, umbrellas and sun loungers. To get to Prainha, go to the car park on the Caniçal to Ponta de São Lourenço road. You can leave the car in the parking lot above and enjoy the views of the Prainha from above.
