PACE Funding Helps Homeowners & Businesses with Energy Efficient Property Improvements

During the Destin Area Chamber's June 2015 Destin Business Forum, Chamber President & CEO and guest host Shane Moody, CCE, FCCP, interviews Veronica Cross, senior PACE outreach consultant with EVEST Florida, powered by the Florida PACE Funding Agency. Property Assessed Clean Energy, or PACE, is a method to obtain energy efficient, renewal energy, or wind mitigation improvements to a residential or commercial property with no upfront cost. Payments can be made through property tax and may be made over a period of 25 years. The Florida PACE Funding Agency was created in 2011. Since payments are made via property tax, it must be adopted by each county independently. It was adopted by Walton County in 2014. To find out if you qualify, visit www.EVESTFlorida.com. You must be the owner of record, have no missed or late property taxes or mortgage taxes during the last three years, have no involuntary liens on property, and have no bankruptcies in the last seven years.
