Arthur LaFleur learned of MedStar Georgetown when his wife, Elizabeth LaFleur, needed a multi-organ transplant. Leading up to the surgery, Beth spent many hours in the hospital getting to know staff and staff getting to know her. True friendships and bonds developed. Sadly, Beth did not survive the surgery but she had left her mark within the transplant department. Her memory was honored with the installation of the water feature in the transplant lobby waiting area. And with a twist of fate, Arthur was able to join the transplant team, first in finance and then as a program coordinator, by combining his banking knowledge with his firsthand caregiver experience. He is now truly making a difference by counseling MedStar Georgetown patients on the transplant process.
