Chelsea’s 1979-80 season marked a transitional period in the club’s history, as the Blues competed in the Second Division following relegation from the top flight. Managed by Geoff Hurst, with Bobby Gould as assistant manager, the squad combined experienced club servants with attacking flair and younger talent as Chelsea sought to rebuild and push back towards promotion. This video looks back at the Chelsea 1979-1980 squad, presented in Then and Now format. It revisits the players who represented the club during that campaign, covering the goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards, and explores what became of them after their time at Stamford Bridge.
