I recently went back to Amsterdam to visit friends & family and decided to share my new hidden gems and personal favorites for Amsterdam in 24 hours like the Skylounge, Hannekes Boom, Roest & the Scheepsvaartmuseum. After publishing my now famous Amsterdam Travel Guide video on YouTube I concluded that I forgot to mention a few other amazing spots in the capital of the Netherlands. Amsterdam is an incredible city to visit if you know where to go. Sadly, I often hear stories from friends and tourists that expected more of Amsterdam thus I took it upon myself to continue publishing engaging content to prevent people from visiting the wrong places during their stay. A sunny day can truly make a massive difference while in Amsterdam! When the sun rays hit your face, you should immediately go to either Amsterdam Roest, a converted industrial beach club on the east end of the city or Hannekes Boom, a shack-style waterfront cafe where you will meet many cool locals and make new friends who can advise you on special events for the evening. It is widely known that it rains an awful lot in Amsterdam so if you find yourself unlucky there are tons of other great indoor things to do, my recommendations; go to a coffee shop and smoke up, then proceed to the many incredible museums like the Rijksmuseum which took 370 million euros to restore and contains the best art & history collection in the Netherlands after drop by either the Royal Palace or the Scheepsvaartmuseum at which you can see how Dutch sailors used to live in colonial times. The Scheepsvaartmuseum, or national maritime museum, is my favorite museum in the city. I love sail boats and galleons from the Dutch Golden Age. The museum includes an entire replica of a Dutch VOC vessel on which you can take great selfies. Also, for the Netflix fans, checkout the Dutch movie: The Admiral. Amsterdam Roest beach has probably the best patio in the city and you can watch live music every evening and mingle with the locals, check their monthly schedule here. My buddy George and I ended our Amsterdam adventure at Wynand Fockink, which I covered in my official Amsterdam Travel Guide, where we met many new people and made new friends. Amsterdam is a great place to make social connections for life! Later I took the train to visit my sister in The Hague (Den Haag), the political capital of the Netherlands. It was a sunny day for a patio and a couple of beers while we observed the political hacks enjoy laughs with their rich buddies. For dinner we ended up at Little V, the best vietnamese restaurant in The Hague that will hit your every tastebud. Make sure to order the chocolate mousse for dessert and go to heaven.
