This holy place was introduced in the sacred memory of 5th Guru Shri Guru Arjan Dev Ji and 6th Guru Shri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji after establishing Kartarpur and understanding the dwellers need of water. Guru Arjan Dev Ji got a well constructed in 1656. At this place only Guru Arjan Dev ji helped to overcome the need of water at this place. At this place only Guru Arjan Dev Ji helped his Devotee Vaisakhi Ram to overcome misconception of holy dip at pilgrimage by revealing the water pot from well here which was lost in river Ganga. Due to that this well is called Gangsar. Guru ji gave so many blessings to this well and told that whoever will Bath With water of holy well will be free from all the mental and physical ailments. Guruji used to preach near this well. This place is known as Manji Sahib also. Sixth guru Hargobind ji used to impart religious preachings at the same place. Here only sixth guru fought battle against Mughals oppression and won. Moreover, at the same place Guru Hargobind Sahib ji his disloyal general Painde Khan. Guru Sahib also relaxed himself after that.
