Things to do in Austin Texas - Keeping it weird in Downtown Austin Texas with overnight stay to experience the Austin live music scene and famous Austin nightlife. We explore the Austin music venues of 6th street looking for Austin best bars before heading to the Midnight Cowboy Austin – one of the city’s oldest Austin speakeasy which used to be a brothel! Later than evening in contrast to Sixth street, we also take in the atmosphere of Rainey Street Austin with its bungalow bars and famous Austin food trucks. We stayed at the Austin Marriott Downtown and will tell you how we booked a corner suite for the same price as a normal room! We also show you their greet rooftop pool and deck, home to their great rooftop bar Zanzibar Austin. Next morning we take a stroll along the Colorado River at Ladybird Lake and see the home of the Austin bats Congress Bridge. After which we head to the Hotel Van Zandt and Geraldines Austin – a great live music venue with jazz brunch. Lastly you could not visit without a trip to the Texas capital and not see the Austin Texas Capitol building.
