A little QSB this morning and not quite as readable as it can be, but still nice to hear Radio Ifrykia on the band. There's very little information out there on Radio Ifrykia other than what can be found in WRTH. They broadcast to the African continent from Ourgla, Algeria through their 300kW station. They can be heard daily from 07:00-1300 GMT on 15140kHz and 17600kHz, and from 19:00 to 01:00 GMT on 13640kHz and 13885kHz. They also broadcast on FM at 105.6, but there's not much chance of ever hearing that from the Brecon Beacons. Received at IO81, 1208 feet ASL in the Brecon Beacons Receivers Home QTH:- RSPDuo SDR Icom IC-R8600 Kenwood R-2000 Realistic DX-394 (Great vintage radio for its price point back in the day.) Sony IC-7600 for out and about. 1949 Westminster ZA-617. Used exclusively for 198kHz Radio 4 in the living room. (Until September 2026 when the short sighted idiots will end transmission on longwave after 101 years.) For Tx:- Icom IC-7300 HF transceiver. Icom IC-9700 VHF/UHF/SHF transceiver. Yaesu FT-1000MP Ranger RCI-2995DX for 10 & 12 metres. Harrier CBHQ 40 Channel Homebase for home QTH CB radio. (That’s a big 10-4 good buddy.) Binatone 5 Star 40 Channel CB Radio for /M CB operation. Yaesu FT-1500 in the car for 2 Metre operation. Xiegu 6100x compact HF for /P. Thunderpole TX HT for /P CB radio when I’m up in the hills Quansheg UV-K6 HT for 2 metres and 70cms for /P when I’m out with the dog. Literally dozens of boxed CB radios I’ve collected since 1981. Cybernet Delta for mobile 934MHz (Sue me, I’m just listening). Reftec BS-934 homebase for 934MHz with a Nevada HRA-900 Masthead Rx amplifier (Sue me again.) Antennas:- A pair of 25-year-old Wellbrook ALA-1530 Active Loops. One factory standard loop mounted on a Yaesu G-450C Rotator. One modified to a 2-metre coaxial loop oriented East-West. iMax 2000 for Tx/Rx on 10 & 12 metres 68 foot end fed long-wire for Tx-Rx from 160 to 10 metres. Diamond X5000 for Tx-Rx on 2 metres, 70cms, 23cms. Diamond CP62 Double ⅝ wave for Tx-Rx on 6 metres. JPS-12 for HF /P. Thunderpole Mk 2 for home QTH CB. (I actually found 9 of these as boxed and unopened New Old Stock at an auction in Pontrilas in 2019. I got the lot for £9.) Dresler ARA-30 indoor active vertical for phased local noise cancellation. Nevada PA-7E for 934Mhz Homebase (sue me yet again.) Les Wallen ⅝ over ¼ colinear for 934MHz /M (Sue me a fourth time.) 65 metre passive loop for diversity reception. There are tons of other radios, antennas, linears, pre-amps, meters, and various other exciting black boxes with lots of knobs and lights knocking around the place, my house looks like a bomb went off in Tandys or Maplins circa 1984.
