Midnight Magic ~ Cold Process Landscape Soap Making ~ One Pot Wonder ~ Castles in a Glowing Kingdom

To those that aren't following me on Instagram, I've been taking a short break due to having welcomed a new baby to the family! This video was filmed some time ago and I never really got to posting it, mostly due to having a complicated pregnancy. It was supposed to go up last week, but I decided that I didn't like the editing and wanted to redo it. So here it is! This soap was a bit of a happy accident... I was planning a blue and purple sky with silhouettes of sparkling brown trees on the horizon. I underestimated my colorants a bit, and this turned out quite darker than I had wanted it to be, especially since most of the lighter shades were scraped away with my Soap Stencil™. Also, the trees I had envisioned ended up looking more like castles in a mysterious kingdom! The name Midnight Magic immediately came to mind, reminding me of a scene in Cinderella. Which do you see, enchanted castles or happy little trees? I decided to brighten these up a little with a stamp that I designed especially for this soap, with glimmering snowflakes in the sky to add a touch more sparkle to the fairytale like scene. It really pulled the entire design together, even though it didn't come out as I initially imagined it would! Do you believe in magic? The sky was poured with the One Pot Wonder technique (aka the OPW) and perfectly highlights the silhouettes with its glow.
