PENBBS 486 REVIEW | 'Destroy Your Enemy,' (ft. Deng Xiaoping, Holly Golightly, PenBBS, and Cats)

Hello again, fellow Fountain Pen Enthusiasts, Welcome to another Panda Pen Club ‘Fountain Pen Review.’ Armed with our trusty spyglass, we home in and adjust our focus until we have a gloriously delectable view of the PenBBS 486’s acrylic / resin Moon River carapace. Perhaps to some this pen is more commonly known as ‘the one with the cat roll stop on the cap,’ but we hope to shed new light on this pen for one and all in today’s pen review. PenBBS is a fountain pen company operating out of China that has a devoted following of fountain pen enthusiasts as any modern pen company I can think of. This admiration is not unfounded. Consistent quality, some innovative design, and—most of all—beautiful acrylic seem to be at the core of their formula for success. Along the way the PenBBS 486 led us today, we found ourselves knee-deep in pondering: Deng Xiaoping, China’s economic reform, Holly Golightly’s character arc, the luxury goods economy, and lots of cats. The pens we use everyday are privy to our thoughts as we write with them; they themselves have a story to tell. Our reviews connect disparate tales, facts, history to the fountain pens that inspire us. ‘Moon River,’ is not only the name of the finish of the PenBBS 486 in this review, but the name of the song sung by Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly in ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’. Henry Mancini composed it with lyrics by Johnny Mercer. Finally: Please accept our sincere apologies for uploading this review so late. We’ve pushed our laptop to the brink to get this video to you, and despite the frustrating technical issues, we hope it is worth it.
