West Hartford Fire Department’s #Velocity 100’ #AscendantTower has our heart! ❤️🚒 The shortened front bumper reduces front swing to enhance maneuverability and drivability. Convex mirrors on the cab corners support ease of outrigger placement on scene. This #AerialPlatform qualified for the Build My Pierce™ (BMP™) Program which shortened their lead time by eliminating overall option count. A larger pump on this #MidMountPlatform provides extra pressure for the aerial waterway. The 42” pumphouse accommodates a 2.5” crosslay and positions the aerial slightly further form the cab, minimizing extension needed for rotation clearance. The rear warning light flashes red and blue on the way to calls, then switches to amber to direct traffic at the scene. A protective door on the officer’s side shields the hydraulic fluid level gauge from the elements in #WestHartfordCT. All qualifying parts are hot dip galvanized to help mitigate corrosion. The officer-side supply hose trough includes a drop-down wall for smooth hose deployment.
