Navajo Nation Auction Tag Holder had a hunt of a Lifetime here on the Navajo Nation downing this Magnificent Monster Bull Elk on his 14th day of his hunt in Arizona. January 2023 Jerry contacted Navajo Outdoors inquiring about potential Trophy Elk Hunt and asked about the Quality of our Elk here on the Navajo Nation, Process on Tags and was looking to try new places to hunt Trophy Elk out west. Had several discussions, sent him photos of elk we have here over several months. I informed him of our Sportsman Expo in Window Rock AZ where some quality tags would be auctioned off. Jerry decided to try his luck and get in on the auction in March 2023 and we won the Bid for one of Navajo Nation Coveted Elk Tag. Being that this hunt is the first time for Jerry here in the Navajo Nation he wanted to try and harvest the biggest Bull Elk on the Navajo Nation and asked to add a second team for the hunt to increase success so in April Team Yellow horse joined the hunt. June 16, 2023 was the first time Navajo Outdoors laid eyes on Double Dagger. From then on we monitored his development till he shed his velvet and in August he exploded and finished out really well better then we had expected. We had located two other potential shooters as back up but Jerry decided Double Dagger would be his Target Bull. Fourteen days, 18 hrs in the field each day finally paid off the evening of September 14, 2023 when Jerry made a single at 325 yards dropping Double Dagger in it’s tracks in the midst of lightning, Thunder storm and 30 mph wind. As we all walked up to this Giant Bull Elk and actually laid hands on him it was obvious that all our estimates of 410” was completely off. Jerry definitely had a hunt of a lifetime here on the Navajo Nation with his Trophy Bull Elk scoring a 434.25”. It just couldn’t happen to an awesome guy. Congratulations Jerry
