Hi lovelies, A few of you saw me prepare this experiment on my live last week Thursday. The process I used was exactly (well nearly exactly) what Aisha instructed: 1) 48 hours soaked in water (I did 50 hours because I forgot 😅) 2) 48 hours in a freezer (i did 47 hours because i was soooo impatient and also had to compensate for the 2 hours lost above) 3) As long as possible in oven at 250 degrees celcius ( i did about 9 hours in oven) I used 10 A chalk blocks and split it into two halves. One half i did nothing to (control) and the other half I experimented on. I numbered them 1-10 so we see the evolution of each block. In between i was so so impatient to see what was happening so I decided to crush block no 10 at the frozen stage. You saw the results of that this morning, it was absolutely frozen and impossible to deal with. EVEN IN HOT WATER. Ah well… But once I baked these blocks in the oven i saw a big change. First of all, Aisha is right that the inside texture changes - amazing! A chalk insides are already a bit textured I guess but yeah there was a clear chalkness like vibe going on after process - more so in some blocks than others. Second, I could be dreaming but I felt the experiment blocks were slightly softer to the touch. It definitely remember thinking oh this feels softer than the OG half. I cannot wait to try this with a medium textured chalk to really notice since A chalk is pretty much soft. All in all, Aisha is a living genius, so amazing for sharing this method with the community and quite impressive that she got me, the most impatient artist, to try a 4.5 day experiment process. Bravo and keep being innovative. You are a breath of fresh air in this community. Ps - unplanned collab with @raleighslimeryasmr who I see posted her results today also. Yay. And she also numbered her blocks in a similar manner and had a control half block. I am so happy to see this because it really is the best way to see if an experiment has worked or not. Fabulous. Enjoy Bisous
