[07:32] Weird Look 6. [09:18] Moving Vapor 7. [11:37] Space Horror 8. [15:17] Trying To Go Away 9. [19:00] Big Finale 10. [20:24] End Title Song (Vocals by Otto Brandenburg) 11. [23:14] New Edit 12. [24:36] Trailer Score Wonderfully directed by Sidney W. Pink (1916-2002), this Danish / American co-production science fiction film stars Peter Mönch, Ann Smyrner (1934-2016), Carl Ottosen (1918-1972), Greta Thyssen (1927-2018), John Agar (1921-2002), Louis Miehe-Renard (1919-1997), Mimi Heinrich (1936-2017), and Ove Sprogøe (1919-2004). American film producer and occasional director Sidney W. Pink is noted for producing early Spaghetti westerns and low-budget sci-fi films such as 'The Angry Red Planet (1959) and 'Reptilicus (1961). 'Journey to the Seventh Planet is now considered to be one of the great classics of the time. By today's standards the special effects are somewhat dated, but the efforts are amazing nonetheless, particularly given a less than generous budget. In the year 2001, the United Nations is the sole governing body of the world, and the great hunger now is for knowledge. To that end, most of the solar system has been explored and chartered by the UN Space Fleet. But as of yet no sign of life in any form has been discovered. The search goes on, and systematic exploration continues. Spaceship Explorer 12 is now on an expedition to survey and investigate the seventh planet, Uranus. On board are five astronauts: Capt. Don Graham (John Agar), Cmdr. Eric Nilsson (Carl Ottosen), Lt. Karl Heinrich (Peter Mönch), Barry O'Sullivan (Ove Sprogøe) and scientist Svend Viltoft (Louis Miehe-Renard). Little do they know their lives will be irreversibly altered when they discover a beautiful but eerie land not unlike Earth, complete with a village filled with voluptuous women. But underneath the utopian veneer is a heinous telepathic brain, capable of manipulating their greatest fears and most cherished desires... The Danish version of the score was composed by jazz musician Ib Glindemann (1934-2019), whilst the American version is credited to AIP regular Ronald Stein. This is the latter, which also includes the often left out end titles that were performed by Danish singer Otto Brandenburg (1934-2007), who had a number of successful releases in the 1950's and 1960's. He was also a popular actor with several film and television appearances. The score adds to that early 60's nostalgia of what a composer thought a futuristic score might sound like, full of eerie sound effects and ambient noises that come through quite nicely when other elements are being utilized. Astute listeners may recognize parts of the music have been recycled from Roger Corman's 'The Undead (1957), also scored by Stein, who was, alongside fellow genre composer Les Baxter (1922-1996), one of the few men involved in low-budget films who actually had music released on several commercial LPs.
