Commenting the release of Christopher Nolan's "Dunkirk" movie, British historian Max Hastings said that 'The French will have to make their own film if they want their national story properly told.' I am ok with that, although I believe allied people should not feel annoyed to recognize the contribution of each others. "Dunkirk" movie is terribly historically inaccurate and unfortunately, I know many people will still take it for historical stuff although Nolan did not claim so. Here are some actual footages of the French Army fighting in France in June 1940 (Fall Rot), after the evacuation of Dunkirk. And also combats in Norway in May 1940. Truth must be told and shown about the actual contribution of French military and Free French Forces/French Resistance in WW2, and we shall not accept that our grand-fathers be forgotten or grossly ignored. My statement is also made for WW1 after the ignominious "Battlefield 1" video game where the French Army was given a secondary DLC version despite its massive and decisive role in Allied victory in 1918.
