4K Drone Video of Diamond Head Crater in Honolulu, Hawaii. One of the most iconic locations in the world and easily recognizable. Diamond Head is a volcanic tuff cone on the Hawaiian island of Oʻahu and known to Hawaiians as Lēʻahi. The Hawaiian name is most likely derived from lae (browridge, promontory) plus ʻahi (tuna) because the shape of the ridgeline resembles the shape of a tuna's dorsal fin. Its English name was given by British sailors in the 19th century, who named it for the calcite crystals on the adjacent beach. The video was shot on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at approximately 9:30am. I took off from the beach and flew up towards the lookout from there. -- Drone Info -- Video was shot with my new DJI Mavic Air 2 using a low ND16 filter to cut back on some glare from the sun during an early flight. The DJI Mavic Air 2 was just introduced by DJI on April 27th and it seems that the demand for it has been very strong. The new DJI Mavic Air 2 is slightly smaller and lighter than my previous Mavic Pro Platinum but has the capability of taking 48MP pictures and 4K video. So far, even though I've only flown it a few times now, the Mavic Air 2 has been a great addition to my personal drone collection and I highly recommend any drone enthusiast purchase the Mavic Air 2.
