1958 MZ RT 125/2 first ride in probably 50 or so years!!!!

The 1958 MZ RT 125/2 is now running and almost done. We cleaned the gas tank, claned the points cover, hooked up the clutch, changed the back tire, cleaned it up a bit, hooked up the back brake, and cleaned and installed the original air filter. I certainly am not a camerawoman and rather nervous on film 😝 and the sound stinks. Apologies! I mentioned it was making a noise, it may be the chain rubbing against the rubber housing, but we will see. I was going to get it painted, but I like it this way: it looks like it was raced, it looks mean, and i think Ernst Degner would approve. It’s amazing to own a machine that is truly part of Motorcycle and Automotive history. I’m honored, I’ll take care of it, and hopefully in a few months I can get it street legal enough to take my favorite ride all the way down Queens Boulevard from Jamaica and over the bridge to Manhattan.
