The Cab Saver was specifically designed for Cab04P and Cab06P which are potentiometer cabs. The easiest way to tell is if your knob stops (will not go more than 360 degrees), that's a potentiometer. If the knob spins more than 360 degrees and doesn't stop, it is an encoder cab.
