This decision of the Supreme Court has brought great relief to about 17 lakh madrasa students of the state, as it has ended the uncertainty about their education and future studies. Overturning the decision of the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court, the Supreme Court has upheld the constitutionality of the UP Madrasa Board. However, except for some provisions, the court has accepted the constitutional validity of the 'Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Education Board Act 2004'. This decision has made it clear that a large part of the Act is legally valid and according to the Constitution. Since then, madrasas have come into discussion.
