By the Very Rev Dr Donald Patton This talk reflects on Presbyterianism in the later 18th century through the writings and ministry of the Rev Dr William Campbell, minister of Armagh, 1764-89. Campbell became a prominent figure during those years and who left behind a manuscript "Sketches of the History of Presbyterians in Ireland" which is held by the Presbyterian Historical Society of Ireland. In November 2019 a transcript of the manuscript was published by the Society. The book may be purchased from the bookstore on the Society's website. Originally scheduled to be given on 15 October 2020 in the Robinson Library in Armagh as part of the series of talks of the Presbyterian Historical Society of Ireland the talk event was cancelled due to the pandemic situation.
