In overlanding travel, it is necessary to be self-reliant and equipped with all that is necessary for a journey to remote destinations. Since these destinations do no provide for bathroom services, a question we are commonly asked is "Where do you go when you have to go?". And the answer is, drumroll, please, the Thunderbox - the Australian Outback Toilet! This has to be one of our most important pieces of equipment. When broken down for transport, it measures 16" x 16" x 1" and weighs 9 lbs. Fully assembled, it measures 16" x 16" x 15.5" which is the same height as your toilet at home. The seat is made from wood laminate and is tested to over a 500 lbs weight capacity. Can't get more stable than that! All you need is a privacy tent, some tp, and a wag bag for disposal. Cargo space and weight is important to our full-time travel, and with the compact size of the Thunderbox, we couldn't be more pleased with our choice of where to go when we have to go!
