Prof. Bell Burnell has extraordinary contributions to astronomy ever since. Besides the academic work, she also chaired the Royal Astronomical Society, Institute of Physics, and Royal Society of Edinburgh. Professor Jocelyn Bell Burnell has been awarded the prestigious Royal Astronomical Society Gold Medal which is the Society's highest honour.
